Fun with Nouns,Volcanoes and Cherry Tree Blossoms.

Here we are at the custom rod and car show that we won tickets to. We learned alot about tires, friction, motion and wheels. We saw an auctioneer selling a car for a huge value and heard his odd lingo that was still understandable. We heard a jet fueled car roar and saw cars that looked like Bikes. We even checked out the 3D art display that was at the show.

We were inspired by art done by children that was displayed at the Leisure Center. They had used pink tissue paper glued onto trees to create a lovely collage of trees. Mary also has been veyr impressed by the beautiful trees and blossoms falling. We made our own trees from Construction paper and pink tissue paper. The children discussed blossoms on trees and how the trees are blossoming, before the fruit comes on the apple trees and on our cherry trees.

Learning about the Icelandic Volcano. We created our own lapbooks filled with Volcano inspired words , tissue paper used for Icebergs and Lava. We used Pastel paints and drew our own Volcanos . We learned about negative space and leaving it empty so that we could add another color and have it show nice and clearly.

Crescent Beach on a perfect day. Wycliffe Kits.

Last week we got to go to Crescent Beach with Nanny on a perfectly warm Spring Day. We ran as far as we could one way and then as far as we could the other...Scouring for rocks, sand and sea creatures.
Here we are opening our free Wycliffe translation Kit. Simply... we can go online and find many weekly kids activities. We will have the opportunity to translate John 3:16 into another language. There is a journal included that we will be writing in. We can even plant the book mark that came in the kit...it will grow Black Eyed Susans:)

Garden

Daddy has tilled, made rows and put stakes in the ground with Aidan. Today, Aidan and I planned where we would plant our garden. Keeping shady areas, height of plants and spacing in mind. We discussed inches and 1/8 of an inch. Aidan put in his beans and then watered all of the seeds for me!
Mary helped feed the plants with a special blue plant food called Miracle Grow. Here they are enjoying the garden.
